Tattoo Aftercare

 

Plastic Wrap
If your tattoo artist covers your tattoo with cling wrap, leave it on for at least 1 hour, but no more than 4 hours. Once removed, gently clean the area with a wet paper towel or wash it with mild antibacterial soap in the shower. After drying the tattoo with a clean towel, apply a suitable aftercare product like Bepanthol until it heals completely.

 

Second Skin
If a second skin is applied, keep it on for 5 to 10 days. You may notice blood, leftover ink, and plasma collecting under the second skin, which causes bubbling—this is completely normal and will subside. When removing the second skin, you might see an imprint of the tattoo; this is just excess ink on the surface and not the actual tattoo. If any irritation occurs, remove the second skin immediately and switch to using an aftercare cream.

 

Aftercare Creams
Apply only a thin layer of aftercare cream. If redness or irritation occurs, stop using the cream.

Always ensure the tattoo remains clean during the healing process.

Healing Process

Healing typically takes up to 14 days but can vary between individuals. During this time, avoid swimming, baths, saunas, or anything that might expose the tattoo to water for prolonged periods. Keep showers short and at a comfortable temperature for the tattooed skin. Avoid direct sunlight, fake tanning products, and anything that could irritate the area. Stay away from tight clothing or accessories that might rub against the tattoo. Resist the urge to scratch or pick at it, as itching is a natural part of healing.

 

Exercise

It's best to avoid the gym and physical activity until the tattoo has healed. However, if you must exercise, ensure the tattoo stays as clean as possible. If the tattoo feels uncomfortable during exercise, stop until it feels better. Remember, your tattoo is essentially an open wound and should be treated with care.
